You know how lots of people have those little oval stickers on the back of their cars with cryptic messages like “13.1″ (means they’ve run the mini…or, at least, they want you to think they have)? Or “LAX” (they either play lacrosse, or they spend a lot of time at Los Angeles International Airport)?  You may have seen a few people around here with “OBX.”  It stands for “Outer Banks” North Carolina.  I know this because I’ll be there in less than 48 hours.  And, I can’t wait!

The Outer Banks is basically just a big sandbar off the coast of North Carolina, but it’s got hotels and restaurants and condos and golf courses and ice cream shops and some of the nicest beaches in America.  (Did I mention that I’ll be there in less than 48 hours, and I can’t wait?)  At the risk of sounding like a tourism commercial, you should really look into it for your next beach vacation.  It’s closer and less expensive than most places in Florida, and it’s really cool.  The only downside is that there are a lot of North Easterners (read: people from New Jersey) who vacation there.  As long as you can avoid them, you’ll have a great time.

Is this true?  I’ve NEVER waited tables nor have I really worked in the service industry but these signs actually make sense to me.  My wifey was a server when I met her and this is sorta our story…and it fits.

During a series of inspections in late December 2009 and January 2010, only one critical violation for pests or rodents was found.

Lindsay Lohan

In May of 2010 Lohan was ordered to attended weekly alcohol classes due to her previous arrest for DUI in 2007. On July 6, 2010 she reappeared in court for failure to attend her alcohol classes and she was sentenced to 90 days in jail. On July 20, 2010 Lindsay turned herself in.

Winona Ryder

In 2001, Ryder was arrested for shoplifting a reported $5,500 worth of merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.

Chris Brown

Brown was charged with two felonies on March 5, 2009, after hitting his girlfriend Rihanna during a heated argument.

Nicole Richie

Richie was sentenced to three years probation in July 2007 after she pled guilty to driving under the influence of drugs.

Paris Hilton

Hilton violated her probation by driving on a suspended license in May 2007 and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Britney Spears

Spears faced a judge in January 2008 to give a deposition in the custody battle for her two boys.

Martha Stewart

Stewart was sentenced to five months in jail after she lied about the selling stock in 2001.

Robert Downey Jr.

Downey Jr. faced a felony cocaine possession charge and one misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested in Palm Springs,CA in 2001 and sentenced to three years probation and continued drug rehabilitation.

Courtney Love

In 2005, Love faced a judge and admitted she was using drugs in violation of her previous probation in 2003. She was ordered to 28 days of treatment. Courtney violated this sentence and was subsequently sentenced to six months in rehab and house arrest.

Eminem

In 2001, the rapper was sentenced to two years probation, plus court costs and a $2,500 fine stemming from a weapons charge.

Kobe Bryant

In 2003, Bryant was accused of sexual assault charges. He was acquitted.

Nick Hogan

Nick Hogan, son of wrestler Hulk Hogan, went to court after a car accident involving the critical condition of a passenger. He faced the court in 2007 and was sentenced to 8 months in jail.

Not sure I agree (I have a sunglass obsession…just like my wifey’s obsession with shoes) so I have TONS of non-knockoff sunglasses and I still lie (sometimes but it’s only ’cause I’m a guy.)  I don’t know how you subconciously if you have fake glasses it gives you permission (in your mind) to lie.  The study is HERE.

Like I said I have LOTS of non-knockoffs but damn I still find it difficult to believe.  I guess karma is a bitch?  Just buy the real things…and you’ll lie less…at least you can tell yourself that.

Must be rough to be a celeb.  This isn’t a horrible first meal in jail is it?  I’m reading a book (I’m shocked too) where the inmates had to eat rice with cockroaches in it.  So…I wouldn’t call this exactly “roughing it” — ya know?
