This is my 2nd Jingle Jam — last year’s was awesome with The Plain White Ts headlining but this year — WOW!!!  Seriously, this lineup is STUPID huge.  All American Rejects, Barenaked Ladies, Five For Fighting and another band to be announced.  I remember when I heard the lineup I was saying to myself (because talking out loud would make people think I’m crazy) “this show is gonna be great.”  It will…my promise.

So Halloween is just around the corner…NEXT SATURDAY!  I can’t believe it.  Wifey and I were talking about what type of candy to get (very important ’cause I get the leftovers) so I thought about it…Snickers and Butterfingers.  I think it’s a win-win for me.  BTW…they’re only the mini ones so don’t start asking for my addy.

I don’t know that there’s much more to say besides I miss it.  

BTW…brought my video camera in today…we’ll see if I can do video like Smiley…if not that’s sad for me

I’ve heard from multiple sources winter is gonna be very mild and others have said it’s gonna snow a lot!  Which is it?!?!  Since we didn’t have summer I’m hoping for sunny and 75 on Christmas.  What have you heard?  I suggest harassing Paul Poteet ’til he gives us an answer we like.

So I was hoping Chicago would have won the bid…I’ve never been to the Olympics but at least it’s in Rio.  I’ve been wanting to go to Rio for a LONG time…guess it’s a good excuse.  

So…correct me if I’m wrong but I heard some of the events from the Chicago games would have taken place here in Indy — anyone else hear that?

Yeah I know last weekend was only Labor Day but it now seems like everyone is saying “summer is over” and so-on.  It’s bumming me out.  Why does it have to end?  Granted we never REALLY had a summer (if I remember correctly only 5 days hit 90) and now that’s it’s sunny and 80s it seems people are saying “this is a nice fall day” — how is that the case a) since summer is officially here ’til the 20th or 21st and b) it’s all of a sudden fall even though summer was 3 days ago (did that make sense?)

Don’t get me wrong I love that college football started last weekend and NFL starts back up tonight (2 of my 3 favorite things about “fall”) but that’s it!  Let’s enjoy summer as long as we can.  Too soon it’ll be gloomy and 3″ of snow on the ground — REALLY NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT!

Now that it’s officially September I can say it – LET’S PLAY SOME FOOTBALL!!  Got the tailgating equipment ready to go with extra propane tanks on standby.  Even though summer ‘09 didn’t come to work IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON!  I’m staring at the calendar waiting for MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH (and not only ’cause it’s my wifey’s b-day) but COLTS SEASON BEGINS!!  Dammit last year…this year things turn around a little bit more and the run in January is longer…I’m seeing the town turning blue already…

So yes I made it back from my vacation with minimal sunburn (on my side under my arm — don’t know how it happened but it did.)  Been asked a lot if I picked up any French — 2 words – SORTI (exit) and MERCI (thank you) and that’s it!!  I probably should have learned more but I didn’t…too much effort ESPECIALLY for being on vacation.  If you have any tips for my next trip to France please let me know so I can sound half-literate.
